All OMPT test-takers are required to respect the clear desk policy, which only allows them a limited set of items on their desk. The list of allowed items includes:
- Three sheets of blank paper
- Three pencils
- An eraser
- Clear glass of water
Any other items must be removed from the desk. This includes any other tools or decorations. Test-takers are also warned to stay in a quiet and well-lit room. The entrance to the room must be visible on camera, and any windows or additional screens must be covered. They are allowed to use their phone and an ID during the pre-process, but these aren't allowed later on during the test.
