OMPT takes (attempts at) fraud seriously. Each OMPT test is proctored by our partner ProctorU. Any irregularities or incidents are reported to the OMPT Examination Board. The OMPT Examination Board then thoroughly reviews these reports, along with all available video and sound recordings, to determine whether a violation has occurred. If so, it may impose sanctions, which can range from invalidation of the test result to a suspension of up to one year from all OMPT tests.
Prohibited student actions include, but aren't limited to:
- Creating multiple OMPT accounts.
- Talking to someone or themselves during the test.
- Using the phone, tablet, headphones, or any other device apart from the computer the test is being taken.
- Using smartwatches or regular watches during the test.
- Using AI during the OMPT test.
- Taking the OMPT test for someone else (using the test taker's ID).
- Other activities that allow for unfair advantage on the test.
The OMPT Examination Board reviews each case individually and decides based on the severity of the incident and the results of a thorough investigation.
We recognise that each university maintains its own standards and policies regarding test integrity. We collaborate with our partner universities and inform them of our findings, so that they can decide on further action.
Retaking a test
In some cases of disconnection or other technical issues during the test, a student might need to retake the test. For example, if a student took OMPT-A First Attempt, and they experienced severe technical issues that influenced their result, the student might be offered to take OMPT-A First Attempt again. The student is granted another chance only after a thorough check has been conducted by the OMPT Examination Board.
Disqualification
In cases where the OMPT Examination Board identifies that the student was cheating, their test attempt will be disqualified. The student will still be allowed to purchase and take another test attempt if they have any attempts left and if their university allows multiple attempts.
Disqualification and marking as fraud
In cases where serious fraud is identified, the student's test attempt will be disqualified, and they will be banned from taking any other OMPT tests for the rest of the academic cycle. Fraud includes copying content, creating additional OMPT accounts to manipulate attempt limits, and falsifying certificates/correspondence. In other words, it is generally reserved for more serious infractions, not isolated cheating incidents, unless there is a pattern of repeated violations or additional rule breaches.
